About us

Founded in 2018, Tribe Capital is a venture capital firm with over $1.9B in assets under management that is building products that recognize and amplify startups’ product-market fit. We are pioneers in developing quantitative approaches to investing and are innovating on the structure of venture capital itself. We utilize these capabilities to partner with great entrepreneurs building the next wave of generation-defining companies. We are generalist investors seeking opportunities across geographies, sectors, and stages.

Our team comprises technologists, operators, and investors united by a belief in the power of product-market fit, community, and institutional knowledge. The common themes among everyone at Tribe are an entrepreneurial streak, an unrelenting passion for investigation and learning, and an ability to thrive in ambiguity. We are looking for others who share these values as we continue growing the team.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a high-caliber Investment Analyst Investment Associate to join our venture team. This is a foundational role for individuals passionate about finding and supporting the next generation of transformative companies. You’ll operate at the intersection of data science, top-down research, and founder-led networks, supporting investments across the lifecycle from seed through growth+

Our team comes from varied backgrounds as entrepreneurs, investors, and technologists, and we actively embrace diverse perspectives in our investment process. As such, specific past experiences are less important than the following values: an entrepreneurial attitude, the ability to thrive in ambiguity, a commitment to follow-through, and an insatiable intellectual curiosity/penchant for learning.

  • Source innovative N-of-1 startups through direct founder engagement, events, networks, and outbound sourcing
  • Evaluate companies using Tribe’s quantitative approach, layered with top-down factors such as market dynamics, competitive landscape, and regulatory considerations
  • Build and present investment theses to drive internal decision-making
  • Support portfolio companies with board-level initiatives, including key hiring, fundraising, etc.
  • Lead research on emerging sectors; develop market maps, segmentations, and founder ecosystems
  • Contribute to internal firm initiatives, including cohort benchmarks, and thought leadership

Ideal Candidate

  • 2-4 years in venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, consulting, or operating roles at high-growth companies
  • Strong analytical and data-oriented mindset; fluent in interpreting data and uncovering insight from ambiguity.
  • Relationship-driven that value long-term founder and investor engagement and pride in the daily incremental “micro-wins” that enable successful investments
  • Clear communicator with strong writing, structured thinking, and executive presence
  • Intellectually curious, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently
  • Operates with urgency, adaptability, and a bias for action in fast-moving environments

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Board Exposure – Direct path to participate in board meetings, take on observer roles, and build trusted relationships with founders and executive teams
  • Proactive Sourcing Mandate – You’ll have the agency to shape sourcing strategy, cultivate founder networks, attend and host events, and contribute to Tribe’s external presence through thought leadership
  • Full Lifecycle Engagement – From day one, you’ll operate across the investment lifecycle—sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support—with clear opportunities to lead deals over time
